Marc Gunther has been a reporter for more than fifty years. I’m now mostly retired but I occasionally write about topics that interest me, including philanthropy, tobacco control, psychedelic drugs.

I was a senior writer at Fortune magazine from 1996 to 2009. Since then, I’ve contributed to magazines and newspapers, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, The Chronicle of Philanthropy, Mother Jones, Reason and Vox. I’ve written or co-authored four books.
