I am a Quiznos franchisee for 8 years now and I can tell you that this so called green movement of Quiznos Corp. is no longer being done! Q Corp. recently changed the regular cups back to standard paper cups as well as for the lids to said cups as well as the lids for kidz/water size cup. They have also added back the plastic bags that they used to use as well. They plan in the near future to change the salad containers away from a green product. They have never once tried to instate a recycling program in the stores themselves so all paper ends up in the landfill any way. Q Corp. only went "green" so that they could charge more for the paper products it sells its franchisees. Now that they raised the prices they are going back to cheaper non-green products and leaving prices at the same level. They do the same with the food as well! Tomatoes were $50 for a case not long ago, whereas they could be bought locally for under $20. CROOKS, LIARS, FRAUD, CRIMINALS, CHARLATANS, DECEITFUL, CON-ARTISTS, SCUMBAGS, to name a few!

Thanks, Cody, this is a useful insight. Sometimes simple communication can help solve an environmental problem.

The key for companies implementing "green" programs with compostable items is they must deal directly with composters in the area and divert the waste. For example, their is a Quiznos 5 miles from a major composting facility in Carson City, Nevada and they do nothing to try to get their compostable items to the composting site. If they took the time to coordinate with the composters, such as myself, we could begin great programs and divert the waste in the store to be taken to the composting facilities. The composters are out there, the companies need to take the next step to get these projects going. It's simple to add clearly labeled garbage cans just for their compostable items that can then be taken to local composters.

Rick made all Franchisees throw all old paper products in the trash, they were still good sent Quiznos workers to the stores collected all of these products that were still good and useable then threw them into the trash and handed us all new bags so they could tell everyone how green they are, complete lies

Rick Schaden Charged with Murder? All Quiznos employees, current and former, will be charged with accessory to murder unless they corporate with the courts? Could this happen? Why hasn't Rick Schaden and his "good ol' boys" been charged criminally for causing 11 suicides, wrongful deaths? The USA Today article about the teen driven to suicide by her classmates bullying, is exactly what Rick Schaden and his Quiznos employees are accused of doing to Quiznos Franchisees. The Bob Baber suicide note clearly shows that Quiznos harassed him to suicide. Could Rick Shaden and all Quiznos employees be charged criminally? Should the District of Attorney of Denver start a criminal investigation into Quiznos threats and bullying practices?
Quiznos employees is this the type of company to work for, could a call to the Denver DA, becoming a whistle blower save someones life? Pat Meyers, Steve Schaffer, and John Fitchet all charged for wrongful death? Read both articles below, what is the difference?

Article Two Bob Baber Suicide Note (page 3-4) http://www.marksklein.com/quizno/Toast.php

It's dissonant. It's contradictory. They are a mega corporation selling crappy food. Just because the soda comes in recycled cups doesn't make it any better for you.

Great story. I recall Ray Anderson's "moment" of discovery was prompted by a similar conversation with his kids - it really shows what a difference can be made when you get right to the heart and soul of the people involved. We'll see if Quiznos ever stacks up to Interface Carpet in terms of the depth of their commitment, but it's a start!
