		<description>Marc,

As a military brat who grew up around the world, I had the opportunity to live in 3 countries and 10 states and to meet people from different cultures and experiences. It wasn&#039;t until I moved to Hawaii in elementary school in the early 80&#039;s that I heard about the importance of water conservation and recycling and the dangers of ocean pollution and littering. What really stuck with me was the message of protecting the islands, its flora &amp; fauna and most importantly, how we all played a part.

After my father was reassigned to posts in Kansas, Louisiana and Georgia, I realized that not all states placed the same emphasis on the importance of conservation as Hawaii. Thanks to my Hawaiian teachers who had laid the groundwork, I would do my best to educate family and friends on the importance of recycling, carpooling and conservation with mixed results. Now, as an adult, I have my dream job of communicating to 77,000 employees the importance of how everything we do has an impact and recognizing everyday people that go out of their way to make a difference. Check out our Cox Conserves Heroes program when you get the opportunity to be truly inspired. (www.coxconservesheroes.com)

So often, we get caught up in the doom and gloom of climate change that we forget to focus on the importance of protecting the places we love and the people that rely on those places for their homes and livelihoods. Thank you for bringing it back to the basics and here&#039;s to you enjoying your well-deserved vacation.

Best,
Jami Buck
